June previously served as Vice President of a leading Canadian medical imaging organization. June has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, and undertook her postgraduate business management studies at Anglia University in England. She later graduated from the Executive Leadership program of the University of Cape Town, South Africa. June has worked in senior leadership roles in marketing, business development, and general management in leading financial services companies in the post-secondary education sector, the technology sector, and the media industry.

June has lived and worked internationally, including New York, London, Milan, and Hong Kong, before settling in Canada in 2010. June has been living with her husband in the Okotoks community for 13 years, during which time she has been an active volunteer in several local community organizations. She has two adult children and recently became a very enthusiastic grandparent for the first time. In her spare time, June enjoys spending time in the mountains and undertaking Zumba and yoga classes. June joined the Foothills Country Hospice Board of Directors in 2023.

Rick Quail https://www.countryhospice.org/team/rick-quail/ Thu, 19 Feb 2026 12:04:16 +0000 https://www.countryhospice.org/?post_type=team&p=3525 Rick Quail has lived in Okotoks since 1988 and has been fortunate to have had a ‘front-porch’ view of the community’s growth, serving as Urban Planner and Chief Administrative Officer for Okotoks until retiring in 2016; providing leadership and support in facilitating the growth and development of this thriving community. That service has included enabling and implementing the collective will of 12 different municipal councils (nee boards of directors). Rick also represented urban municipalities across Alberta for over a decade on the Alberta Water Council.

Rick received a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy, Law and Administration from the University of Calgary. Professional Memberships include the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators and the Canadian Institute of Planners (retired status), amongst others.

Rick and his wife Terry have two sons and four grandchildren who reside in Calgary. Rick is an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hiking, golfing, skiing, camping and mountain biking, including the beautiful river valley trail system in Okotoks.

Serving with the diverse and talented Directors of the Hospice Society is an honour and a privilege.

He attended Holy Trinity Academy where he graduated in 2003. After graduating high school, Sean attended the University of Calgary and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Commerce.

Following graduation, he articled for Collins Barrow Calgary where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2011. Sean currently works for RSM Canada as a senior manager in the firms audit group and has experience with entities in both the private and public sectors including energy, real estate, construction, and not-for-profit organizations.

Additionally, Sean is a board member of It Takes a Village which is a registered non-profit society based out of Okotoks which helps families in the Foothills area of Alberta that are facing hardships.

In Sean’s downtime he enjoys travelling and has been to over 20 countries over the past 10 years. Sean also enjoys skiing, construction, and mechanics and has 3 young children who keep me busy at home and active in the local community.

She has worked with various award-winning workplaces and lead community initiatives with a focus on giving back locally (within the Calgary and surrounding areas).

Living in the Foothills area, and having a personal connection to the hospice, Kimberley was inspired to join the board to help with the upcoming expansion of the hospice programming and the ongoing exemplary skill the hospice provides in end-of-life care.

Kim enjoys the proximity to the mountains that living in the foothills allows, to enjoy time outdoors with her family hiking and kayaking, along with space for adding to her rescue animal collection.

She grew up in Okotoks and graduated from Holy Trinity Academy in 2004. After graduation, she attended the University of Calgary, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2008. She then attended the University of Windsor Law School, where she obtained her JD in 2012.

Tracy is currently an associate at Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP. She has a corporate commercial litigation practice with an emphasis on oil and gas litigation, construction, and class actions. Prior to joining Blakes, Tracy practiced at an international law firm and developed extensive energy industry experience with a focus on litigating pipeline failures and releases, operator disputes, class actions, and regulatory matters

Tracy is a mom of two young children who keep her busy and occupy most of her time. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, golf, and reading.

Ron is a retired physician who has lived in Okotoks since 2004.  He worked as a comprehensive rural Family Physician until 2001, when he did extra training in Palliative Medicine and began work as a consulting physician in Palliative Care.  Over the subsequent years, he served as Medical Director for the AHS Calgary Zone Palliative and End of Life Care Program, Department Head for the AHS Calgary Zone Department of Rural Medicine and Academic Rural Director for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Calgary.  Ron is enjoying retirement and remains active in a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, cross-country skiing, and camping.  He lives in Okotoks with his wife, Lee.  They have three adult children who live in Calgary and Toronto.

Ron joined the Foothills Country Hospice Board of Directors in 2024.

Lori Anderson joined the Foothills Country Hospice Society Board in June 2025.

Lori and her husband Kent (and their adult children and their families) are longtime residents of the Okotoks and Foothills area.

Lori has a Masters degree in Nursing and over 40 years of diverse healthcare leadership experience in urban and rural Alberta publicly funded health organizations.  Portfolios and teams that she has led and co-led span the health system, including acute care, continuing care, addiction and mental health, primary care and public health. She has supported and led teams through transformative system and organizational changes, the H1N1 pandemic and the Covid pandemic.  Lori had the privilege to co-lead the commissioning and subsequent transition into regular operations of the South Health Campus.

Lori has served on a number of Governance Boards at the local and provincial level including  Carewest (chair for 10 years), Calgary Health Foundation, South Calgary Primary Care Network, Calgary West Central Primary Care Network, Victorian Order of Nurses, Healthy Okotoks Coalition (founding member) and the provincial board for LPIP (which oversaw the liability coverage for health care within Alberta).  She is currently a director on the Leighton Art Centre Board.

Lori has respectfully worked with and learned from Indigenous Elders to establish health care environments committed to cultural and psychological safety for all. Lori is proud to have received the transferred rights to the Prairie Mountain Lodge and was gifted the Blackfoot name of Liyinnimaki (Capturing Woman) from Blackfoot Ceremonialist Elder Morris Littlewolf.

Lori has a strong commitment to patient and family centred care, wellness and team-based leadership and has enjoyed and benefitted from working collaboratively with community and patient based advisory groups.

Lori believes in the value and importance of a healthy lifestyle and enjoys reading, gardening, painting, hiking and cross-country skiing and most importantly spending time with her family and friends!

He has successfully led a variety of corporate initiatives, with a focus on long-term business value among stakeholders.

Formerly a PM Certification program instructor with Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Continuing Education and Extension, he believes in ‘paying it forward’ by sharing his professional knowledge and experience. That sharing can be seen in his personal life as well through volunteering in his community as a high-school football coach as well as sitting on the board of the Foothills Country Hospice Society.

Mervyn is a certified business coach, currently splitting his time between independent management consulting and coaching small and medium-sized organizations.
