Caring for Loved Ones
The Foothills Country Hospice is a place of refuge where all of us – staff & volunteers – work to create an atmosphere of care and dignity for those we serve, including offering bereavement support for loved ones.
Journeying Through Grief
The Foothills Country Hospice offers a monthly drop-in group for loved ones of patients who have passed at our Hospice. It is a gentle place for non-judgmental peer supports & connecting with others on similar journeys.
Specially trained volunteers will call bereaved families once per month (for up to 1 yr) to offer a compassionate ear. If issues arise that are more in-depth, volunteers can engage our social work or spiritual care supports.
In Memoriam Service
Families of loved ones are invited back to the Foothills Country Hospice for this time of reflection and remembrance, in both Spring & Fall, to honour those who have passed at our Hospice.
Although we were only at the hospice for a short while, we quickly fell into the family setting. The care was fantastic, communication smooth, understanding and empathetic. All the caregivers felt like friends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” – Journeying Through Grief Participant
